Aviation

Our team has been directly involved in numerous major aviation incidents across Indonesia—including high-profile matters in Denpasar (Bali), Yogyakarta, Balikpapan, Pontianak, and Papua—as well as multiple ground-collision aircraft incidents. In addition, we have advised on complex, multi-jurisdictional aviation matters, including those arising from the MH370 missing flight and the MH17 tragedy in Ukrainian airspace, requiring careful coordination across jurisdictions, insurers, and legal systems. For many years, we have regularly advised and represented Indonesian airlines and have consistently supported domestic and international insurers and reinsurers, together with their legal teams, in aviation-related disputes. We also maintain close and enduring working relationships with a top-tier London-based law firm and several leading Singapore-based firms, enabling us to effectively safeguard insurers’ and reinsurers’ interests in a wide range of aviation claims, proceedings, and regulatory matters. Our scope of assistance includes, among others: (i) advising and representing domestic airlines in civil litigation; (ii) assisting insurers and reinsurers in protecting and advancing their legal and financial interests; (iii) facilitating settlements with passengers and/or next of kin in cases involving death, personal injury, or loss of personal effects; and (iv) managing consumer claims arising from flight disruptions and service-related issues.
